We were going to go to Spices 3, but saw this place with the Grand Opening sign across the street and decided to check it out. Apparently they've been open for a couple of months already, but just switched locations with the Old Spices. They are affiliated, though Spices 3 focuses purely on Sichuan dishes while this place (as the name suggests) has more noodle options as well as some Canto dim sum options.
Right now they have a deal - 4 bowls of noodles for $30, which is pretty great value.
We ordered pork belly noodle soup, sweet & sour fried fish filet, stir fried Chinese broccoli (jie lan/gai lan) with garlic, and West Lake beef soup.
Gai lan - 5/5. Very fresh, tender, juicy gai lan, stir-fried perfectly
Fish - 4/5. pretty Americanized taste, but crispy and fresh
Pork belly noodles - 4/5. The pork belly was soo good! Meltingly tender and unctuous. Noodles were average and the broth was a little one-dimensional, as it tasted strongly of Sichuan peppercorn
Beef soup - 3/5. Pretty average, though it's hard to either mess up or elevate West Lake beef soup
The proprietors are very friendly, and also they take card! So if you show up to (cash-only) Spices 3 across the street and realize you're missing cash, just head across the street for an excellent meal. -

Since they don't answer their phone I am forced to write this review. The sesame chicken was missing an ingredient -- CHICKEN!!!! I feel they did it on purpose. How do you miss the chicken? The rest of the meal lacked serious seasoning. Isn't the name a little misleading if you don't actually use spice? What a rip.

My parents found out about this place a few weeks ago and have been ordering their food to bring home several times before. We always noticed how much they give us but recently, we finally ate in store, and when they brought out our order, our mouths literally dropped. So much noodles and so much meats in our bowls! Not to mention the size of the bowls is ridiculously large. Besides that, its super delicious! We ordered the 4 bowls for $29.95 special and we ended up giving them a $10 tip because of how unbelievably cheap it was. This place needs to be recognized more! Really recommend it if you like spice! (They also have non-spicy broth.)
